2003 was yet again another busy year. On the design side we had a good mix of clients to service, ranging from airshow programmes in the summer months to a calendar for the youth of Orkney at the end of the year.
This report does not follow any particular pattern, but it does show the wide variety of work we have undertaken.
The Education Department of the Orkney Islands Council kindly asked us to design a series of information leaflets for the Children’s Services Department.
There was a series of six leaflets including autism, learning difficulties, hearing difficulties, behavioural problems, pre-school and visual impairment.
Two booklets relating to autism were prepared, one for parents and one for teachers.
One booklet was produced outlining the Child Protection Procedures within the Department.

The year was completed with a 24 page review of 2002 Education Department activities.

Shapinsay Development Group asked us to produce the artwork for its Development Plan, using artwork and photographs which they had created. The end result was a large document which folds down to around A5 size.

In the Autumn we went over to Papa Westray for two days, working with a group of youngsters who designed their own calendar, taking photographs and producing drawings for the project. The calendars were then sold for charity just before Christmas.

The Captain’s Galley Restaurant in Scrabster, a new venture that opened just before the start of 2003, asked us to design the corporate image for their award-winning new restaurant. New business cards set the standard, followed by a poster and gift vouchers. A set of 11 postcards will be produced during 2004 and their web site will be redesigned in line with the new image.

Our work with the Wick Society over the past year has resulted in initial designs for their guide to the museum. This guide will now be produced early in 2004.

Advertisements for various publications were produced throughout the year for clients including Cleaton House Hotel, The Ayre Hotel, Standing Stones Hotel, Pentland Ferries, Westray and Papa Westray Tourist Association and the Sebay Mill.
Southend and Southport Airshows were again supplied with programmes, this year in a larger B5 format, totally designed and written here in Orkney.
Finally we were consulted regarding the new specialised cruise service which will be operated under the banner of Ocean Island Adventures and our new logo is the beginning of a comprehensive marketing programme which will get under way in 2004.
